One Year Comprehensive Warranty

In addition to manufacturing defects, we offer one-year comprehensive coverage for any issues that may arise, including accidental damage. This covers almost anything that may happen to your ring aside from loss of the ring itself, or loss of  any gemstones larger than 2mm.

What isn't included:

  • Loss of your ring
  • Loss of any gemstone larger than 2mm

What is included:

  • Everything else

*Large gemstone loss is not covered, and you should insure your jewelry under your homeowners or renters insurance when you receive it. Jewelers Mutual also offers coverage for US customers.

Lifetime Warranty

All of our jewelry pieces come with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. This includes a promise to refurbish and refinish, ensuring your jewelry always meets our highest standards. For wood rings, this also includes refinishing and replacement of wood or alternative materials that may become damaged for any reason at any time.

What Our Lifetime Warranty Covers:

  1. Manufacturing Defects: Our warranty guarantees that your jewelry is free from defects in materials and craftsmanship. This includes any issues arising from errors or flaws occurring during the manufacturing process.
  2. Repair and Restoration: We stand behind the durability of our jewelry. Our warranty covers minor repair and restoration services to address any issues that may arise over time.
  3. Stone Tightening and Realignment: We will tighten and realign loose stones to ensure they remain securely set within your jewelry piece.
  4. Polishing and General Maintenance: Our warranty includes polishing and general maintenance to keep your jewelry looking its best.
  5. Damage to Wood or Alternative Inlay Materials: We will cover any damage at any time to wood or alternative inlay materials used in your jewelry piece.

What Our Lifetime Warranty Does Not Cover:

  1. Broken or Severely Worn Prongs: We do not cover the repair or replacement of broken prongs or severe wear on prongs, including re-tipping of severely worn prongs.
  2. Accidental Damage: Our warranty does not extend to damage caused by accidents, misuse, or improper care of the jewelry piece.
  3. Damage Caused By Wearing Beyond Normal Wear and Tear: While we strive to create durable jewelry, normal wear and tear over time is expected. Damage caused by wearing your ring beyond the need for refinishing and refurbishment may not be covered.
  4. Loss or Theft: Our warranty does not cover the loss or theft of your jewelry piece. We recommend obtaining appropriate insurance coverage for protection against these events.

Scope of Manufacturing Defects

Our warranty is designed to provide coverage for manufacturing defects in our jewelry. It does not cover issues arising from rough wear, misuse, or inappropriate handling of the jewelry. Manufacturing defects include but are not limited to:

  1. Porosity in metal leading to structural weakness.
  2. Poor soldering or welding resulting in breakage or separation of components.
  3. Prongs or settings not adequately securing gemstones, causing them to become loose or fall out.
  4. Cracks or fractures in the jewelry resulting from the manufacturing process.

However, our warranty does not cover damages resulting from the following:

  1. Accidental impacts, rough usage, or improper handling of the jewelry.
  2. Alterations, modifications, or repairs conducted by anyone other than Northwood Jewelry or its authorized representatives.
  3. Damage due to exposure to harsh chemicals, excessive heat, or corrosive substances.

It is important to note that jewelry requires proper care to maintain its longevity. Regular inspections, refinishing, and prompt attention to any issues will ensure the continued beauty and durability of your jewelry.

Our team of skilled artisans carefully crafts each piece of jewelry to meet our high-quality standards. In the rare event that a manufacturing defect occurs, we stand behind our products and are committed to addressing the issue promptly and professionally.

Please contact us if you have any concerns about your jewelry or need assistance with repairs. We are here to help and ensure your jewelry brings you joy for many years to come.

Note: The warranty coverage may also exclude certain conditions as outlined in the "Exclusions" section of this warranty document.

Warranty Transfer

The warranty for our jewelry remains with the product, allowing it to be transferred to subsequent owners if the jewelry is sold or gifted. The comprehensive warranty length does not change and is valid for one year from the initial owners receipt of the jewelry.

The following items may be excluded from our warranty coverage:

  1. Custom-made products.
  2. Products made with or from customer-provided materials.
  3. Jewelry made to customer specifications that the customer was advised against.

Repair Assessment and Process

For warranty repairs, the item must be returned to us. In special circumstances, where the repair is minor, we may allow a qualified jeweler closer to the customer to complete the repair to save time, money, and reduce mailing.

Gemstone Inspection

We recommend that jewelry with gemstones be inspected annually by a reputable jeweler for any loosening of stones in their settings. Melee gemstones (2mm or smaller) will be replaced free of charge for the first year. After the first year, melees may be replaced for a fee equal to materials and labor if damage occurs due to missing or damaged prongs.

Wood and Natural Inlays Refinishing

Jewelry with natural material inlays, such as wood, may need refinishing from time to time to ensure the waterproof acrylic finish protecting these materials from water remains in good condition. Signs that refinishing may be needed include deep scratches, dull or rough surfaces, flaking of the finish, or a pronounced crackling effect. For the lifetime of your jewelry with natural material inlays, we offer free refinishing or replacement if needed.

Shipping for Warranty Repairs

For manufacturing warranty repairs, we will provide reasonable shipping coverage to facilitate the repair process. All other repairs and services will be shipped at the customer's own expense

Major Repairs

If major repairs are required that fall outside the warranty coverage, we will communicate the cost and repair options to the customer before any repair work takes place.

One Complimentary Resizing:

Within the first year of your purchase, enjoy one complimentary resizing for any Northwood Ring, within two sizes up or down from the original size. If you need more than two sizes difference, labor will remain free, but fees may be applicable for materials.

Outside of our one complimentary resizing, sizing will be done based on labor and materials to size your ring.

Please note that in resizing a wood ring, the original wood needs to be removed and replaced, so grain and color may vary from the original.
